Authority Meetings
Authority Meetings are held on the fourth Monday of each month (except August and December) at 2.30 p.m. and the venue is rotated between the six constituent local authority headquarters.
Cathaoirleach (Chairman)
At their July monthly meeting each year the members of the Authority elect one of their number to be the Cathaoirleach (Chairman) for the ensuing year. A Leas-Chathaoirleach (Vice-Chairman) is also elected for a one-year term.
At their meeting held on 26th July, 2010 the Authority elected Cllr. John Cummins (FG) as Cathaoirleach and Cllr. Damien Geoghegan (FG) as Leas-Chathaoirleach.

Designated County Manager
In 1996 the Minister for the Environment, Heritage & Local Government provided for the designation of a City/County Manager in each region to be responsible for relations with the regional authority and to improve co-ordination and linkage with and between local authorities.
The Designated County Manager is required to submit periodic reports to the Regional Authority on measures being taken by local authorities in the region to promote the proper coordination of their policies, plans and programmes.

Mr. Joe Crockett, Kilkenny County Manager, is the Designated County Manager in the South-East Region for the two year period 2009-2011
Coat of Arms

On the petition of the Authority the Chief Herald of Ireland has granted and assigned unto the Authority a Coat of Arms described as follows:
"Argent a cinquefoil pierced gules between nine billets, four, two, two and one vert, and with the Motto: Nasc agus Neart".
The Coat of Arms is the property of the South-East Regional Authority and its use by others is not permitted except with the expressed permission of the Authority.
Text of the Grant of Arms by Chief Herald of Ireland
To all to whom these Presents shall come, I, Donal Begley, Chief Herald of Ireland, send Greeting.
Whereas petition hath been made unto me by the Chairman and members of the South-East Regional Authority, Clonmel in the County of Tipperary, setting forth that they are desirous that certain Armorial Ensigns may be duly marshalled and assigned by lawful authority unto the said Authority such as without injury or prejudice to any other the said Authority may forever bear and advance and praying that I would grant and assign unto the said Authority such Armorial Ensigns as aforesaid and that the Armorial Ensigns so granted and assigned may be ratified and recored in my Office to the end that the Officers of Arms there and all others upon occasion may take full notice and have knowledge thereof.
Now, I, the said Chief Herald of Ireland, having taken the said petition into consideration and having enquired into and examined the circumstances, am pleased to comply with the said petition and do, by these Presents, acting on behalf of and by the authority of the Government of Ireland, grant and assign unto the said Authority the Arms following, that is to say:- Argent a cinquefoil pierced gules between nine billets four, two, two and one vert, and with the Motto: Nasc agus Neart, the whole more clearly depicted in the margin hereof. To have and to hold the said Arms unto the said South-East Regional Authority forever and the same to bear, use, shew, set forth and advance in shield or banner or otherwise, observing and using their due and proper differences according to the Laws of Arms and without the let, hindrance, molestation, interruption, controlment or challenge of any manner of person or persons whatsoever.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my Name and Title and affixed the Seal of my Office this 6th day of December, One Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety Four.

Operational Committee
The Authority is advised and assisted by two broadly-based Operational Committees, one with respect to general functions and the other with respect to functions relating to EU assistance. Certain functions of a procedural and day-to-day nature have been formally delegated by the Authority to the Operational Committee and the Director.
