SEISS

The Authority, with financial assistance from the Department of Public Enterprise (Information Society Development Fund) has developed an Integrated Regional Information Society Strategy and Action Plan.  Its purpose is to ensure that the South-East Region does not slip behind in the rapid global development of the information society and that the region at every level is fully geared up to maximise the benefits and opportunities that these developments offer to those that are prepared.  The SEISS Project commenced on the 1st July 2000 following a comprehensive work programme and cross-sectoral consultation.  The SEISS Regional Information Society Strategy and Action Plan was formally considered and adopted by the South-East Regional Authority in September, 2001 and officially launched at the Institute of Technology, Carlow in December by Mary O'Rourke, T.D., Minister for Public Enterprise.

The publication of this Strategy and Action Plan is just the first step on the road to the South-East becoming a successful and dynamic region in the global information society.
