N24 Prioritisation Study
The South-East Regional Authority co-ordinated the preparation of a N24 Prioritisation Study to advance the case being made for the various schemes proposed for the roads. The Regional Authority engaged the services of Colin Buchanan and Partners Limited to assist in this project. A Project Steering Group which includes representatives of the local authorities (Waterford City Council, Waterford County Council, South Tipperary County Council, Limerick County Council, Limerick City Council, Kilkenny County Council) was established by the Regional Authority to provide overall guidance and direction during preparation of the study. The cost of the study was funded by contributions from the local authorities in the Mid-West and South-East regions.
In July, a delegation from the South-East Regional Authority and the Mid-West Regional Authority met with the Mr. Fred Barry, Chief Executive of the National Roads Authority to seek priority upgrading of the N24 Limerick-Waterford primary route.
